The Acoustics Laboratory

The acoustics laboratory is a modern set up involving five reverberant rooms and two anechoic chambers.

Four reverberant rooms are dedicated to acoustic isolation measurements including airborne as well as structureborne noise.

The fifth reverberant room has a pyramidal shape and is mainly used to perform absorption measurements as well as sound power evaluation.

The two anechoic chambers are used for most electroacoustic measurements.

Measurements in these rooms are computer aided and carried out by researchers whose qualifications meet national and international standards.

The main measurement procedures are :

Transmission loss and noise reduction index measurements
Measurements of noise absorption coefficients
Measurements of acoustical power and directivity patterns
HVAC radiated noise measurements
